1.20.2010 - 9:20 am Christine - That was lovely! Truly!!! I just stumbled across your blog today...oh, how I love when a stumble takes me somewhere wonderful. I was led here by a friend/local wedding planner here on Cape Cod, who commented on facebook about an invitation featured on Snippet & Ink...and there you were. Your work captured my attention, so I followed the trail. You absolutely tell a story with your work and that's what I love about photography. Like you, I am a wedding photographer with ideas of being a writer...though my ideas came later in life, though also before photography. It is hard being vulnerable, but I find I am most drawn to people when they do share themselves in an unfiltered way. It makes those of us around them feel less intimidated and more willing to do the same. I just wanted to tell you that you & your public sharing inspired me and lifted my spirit a little higher. And, isn't that a wonderful thing?!! Be proud of yourself and of all the wonderful accomplishments that got you to this point. The good, the bad & the ugly, it's all necessary and makes us who we are. And, though I don't know you, I think you rock! Thank you for sharing! :)

I used to have a blog, loved it, then let it go, and feel like starting it up again but have the exact same fears as you. How open should I be? But reading your words, I say - go for it, you write beautifully and it does 'put a spirit with the name'. You might even inspire me to give it another go x

1.20.2010 - 9:28 pm It Rained on a Friday - I think about this all the time. I think about the deadlines I had set for my life when I was a teen. Must Married by 25 because must have kids by 30 (I didn't want to be an "old" parent). I think about the choices I was so deadset about making because they were the only ones that would lead me down the right path. Dated the same type of guy for ten years only to marry the one I would have least expected because he was nothing like the rest. Lived in Manhattan for over a decade because, really, why live anywhere else?, but never felt a sense of home and belonging until I moved to Brooklyn. So here I am, married after 30, no kids yet, living in Brooklyn and happier than I ever imagined I could be, realizing that the only reason I am able to enjoy this life is because I had to take the long winding road to get here so I could grow, mature, reevaluate priorities, and make some mistakes along the way that really taught me what was important. And Lacey is right, after thinking back about all that I went through to get here, it's pretty exciting to think about what I may be doing now that will take me to where I'll be later. This thing called life...it's pretty grand. Thank you for posting.

1.20.2010 - 8:53 pm lacey - I loved reading this. I oftentimes think about all of the circumstances that unleashed a chain of events that brought me to where I am now. And then you have to wonder what chain of events you are currently setting off, and where the choices you are making now will put you in ten years time. I loved your insight, and your honesty.
