I agree with just about all of that (most particularly: hooray for healthcare, but i digress...), but have to say that i almost never have cash on me (maybe a couple of dollars for the bodega or a coffee stand...), and use my debit card most everywhere. then again, i live on the south end of spanish harlem/north end of the upper east side. maybe this is a brooklyn/manhattan difference? in any case: enjoy this gorgeous sunny weekend. as you've already learned, it may well revert back to torrential rain and cold before the month's over. ;-) oh, and ps: your work is AWESOME. cheers, melissa (www.moonthinks.com)

1.20.2010 - 8:12 pm Julie - Hey there! Congrats on surviving the big move. :) I did the same thing back in Summer 2008---well, maybe not EXACTLY the same thing (your move was WAAAY longer). I moved from Colorado to Maine, while my boyfriend moved to NY. He lived in Bushwick for awhile, then he moved to Astoria Queens. Reading your post was really funny... All the things you've learned so far, are the same things he'd tell me over the phone. :) We both finished school back in Dec 2009 and moved back to CO. As happy as I am to be back in our home state, I miss all that there was to do in good ol' NY! Restaurants, the beach, riding the subway, some awesomely cheap jewelry and shoe boutiques... Can't wait to see all your new work! Oh, I have a question... When you network with people, do you just call them up and see if they'd like to meet over lunch and just chat with them about everything? I'm new to the networking thing and was just wondering about your methods. haha Thanks in advance! Good luck with everything.

1.20.2010 - 12:46 pm j.Martyn - Love the new photos and so sad we missed seeing you! The torrential rain was incredible wasn't it? The wind did such a number on everyone's umbrellas! We walked over 12 miles of Manhattan in the rain, we were soaked to the bone.
